The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a voluntary youth programme actively functioning in Government and Private educational institutions of District Solan with the objective of developing students’ personality through community service and social engagement.
At present, around 80 schools/institutions in District Solan are registered under NSS, comprising both Full Units and Half Units, including Government as well as Private institutions. The scheme provides students with a structured platform to participate in community welfare activities, social awareness programmes, environmental conservation initiatives, and nation-building efforts.
NSS promotes the principle of “Education through Service,” enabling students to learn practical values, leadership skills, and civic responsibility through active participation in community development activities.
