photo 2026 03 02 15 11 39The Bharat Scouts and Guides (BSG) is the national Scouting and Guiding association of India. The national headquarters of BSG is recognised by the Government of India.
HISTORY OF BSG HP
In Himachal, Scouting was started in 1911 when 9 different Scouts troops comprising British and Anglo-Indian boys came in Simla(now known as Shimla).
At that time Simla was summer capital of British India amd Scouting was open only for Anglo-Indian boys and Royal Families.
After Independence,on 15 August 1948 first Independence day was celebrated at TARA DEVI .
Tara Devi was formed as STC in 1930 gifted by LB Goad to Shimla Punjab Boys Scouts Association.
The Guide Hut was Donated by H.E. Chandu Lal Trivedi the Governor Of Punjab in Shimla on 27th October 1951
